These sites are open to a maximum of 6 people per campsite. The camp has a bathhouse with toilets and hot showers available.
Lake Norman
State Park has a 32-site family campground available year-round that can be booked up to 11 months in advance. The park offers more than 30 miles of hiking and biking trails.Lake Norman State Park (ncparks, gov) is home to 13 miles of the lake's shoreline and has two campgrounds. The family camp houses 33 sites that can accommodate up to six guests and include tents, a picnic table and a grill. The group camp consists of three sites for 25 people with full connections, multiple picnic tables, and a campfire. Boats are welcome and there is boat access to Lake Norman, as well as the park's 33-acre private fishing lake.
Pedal boats and canoes can be rented every day. At the southern end of the park there is a swimming complex with its own beach. Other highlights of the property include hiking and cycling trails, a picnic area, a community building with a fireplace, and regularly scheduled tours and educational events. Reservations are highly recommended as camping space is limited.
Created in 1963, Lake Norman spans more than 32,000 acres, is 34 miles long and 8 miles wide at its widest point, and has 520 miles of shoreline. Their sites offer full connections and are located on level concrete land that offers a very clean environment and a panoramic view of Lake Norman.
